Client Requirement
After using Dynamic CRM 365 (8.2) for more than 2 years, client wanted to move on to the latest version of the Dynamics CRM 9.1 on-premises. They desired a seamless transition of the existing data to the new Dynamics CRM with lots of customization.

The Solution
To avoid downtime of existing Dynamics CRM 8.1 we have worked on standalone system and migrated the entire data. We have followed the below steps to migrate.
1. Customizations Migration
o Entities: Account, contacts, leads, opportunities, proposal requirements, sales stage audit, notes, activities and custom entities.
o Entity Components: Forms, views, business rules, and custom reports
o Settings: Users, mailboxes, email templates
o Solution Components: Dashboards, workflows, and plugins
2. Data Migration using CRM Data Migration tool/SDK
o Migrated Data of accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, and related system entities and custom entities.
o Phone calls, appointments, tasks, and emails related to above entities were then migrated
o Notes and attachments were migrated at the end as there were several thousand notes with attachments in on-premises CRM
